With the new year approaching, tons of people will make the goal to get fit in 2014. Being fit and healthy has been a year round goal for me and since the gyms will have an influx of membership in the next coming weeks I decided to begin Insanity. I have just completed my second week and I must say it is truly INSANE! I consider myself to be in good shape for women my age. Before, I worked out three times a week and had adequate nutrition. However, Insanity has definitely intensified my workouts. I am working out six days a week and following their nutrition plan of five small meals a day (for the most part). I altered my schedule and am training my body to wake up and work out before work. Personally if I waited to after work to conquer these challenging work outs, I would talk myself out of doing them. On top of Insanity I have continued my yoga practice, part of my exercise routine I can not live without. I have also incorporated daily multivitamins, fish oil, BCAA's and glutamine. In two weeks, I have averaged a loss of two pounds a week and have lost inches in my thighs and stomach. On the down side, my knee has been bothering me. Rumor has it that Insanity is hard on the joints. Consequently, I started taking a vitamin for joints specifically and got Biofreeze Performance which is amazing! Overall, I would definitely recommend this program for those looking to intensify and switch up their work out routine. This program is challenging but do-able. It is a weightloss program, so if you are looking to increase muscle mass this might not be the program for you. Before you begin any fitness regime make sure to consult a doctor. If you have done Insanity, let me know what your experience was or if you have any questions about my personal experience with Insanity mention it in the comments below. Also let me know what your new years goals are. If you are considering Insanity, in the words of Shaun T "This is bananas, yo."
